There are fewer things in life more frustrating than your co-workers slacking on the job. It means you have to work harder to make up for them, causing you to have more stress and frustration in your life. However, when your co-workers are a group of adorable puppies, it somehow doesn’t seem to matter. Having them fall asleep is probably more fun, and any orneriness is just laughed at. While the puppies you’re about to look at are sweet, awkward, and fun right now but are training for a higher purpose.
The New Taipei City Police Department are currently training six new puppies to become police dogs. In honor of their one-month birthday, the New Taipei City Police Department shared photos of the six new Labrador retriever puppies who would be joining their puppy academy. They are the offspring of their current police dog Yellow. Yellow is not only a trained police dog, she’s able to produce some pretty adorable pups.
All of the puppies are black Labrador puppies except one that happens to be yellow coated. His name is Fushin. They all seem to be pretty adorably ornery, but according to Captain Pan Tian-long, Fushin is the naughtiest of them all. He starts eating, then falls asleep, then wakes up again and begins eating as if nothing had happened. In his photos, Fushin can be seen napping and adorably yawning during training. In one photo, he even seems to wiggle out of his collar.
Taipei formed a canine team in 2014 under the Criminal Investigation Corps. Their purpose is to sniff out contraband. Yellow, the puppies mother, has done such a good job they are hoping the little puppies will grow up to be like her. On the New Taipei Police Department (NPA) Facebook page you can see even more photos of the pups on the job. You’ll have to translate the post but it says that the puppies are camera shy right now, but they seem to enjoy posing for the camera! It takes 2-3 years to train a police dog so hopefully, we can see more cute photos of the pups as their training continues.
It seems crazy that these puppies will someday be able to help protect the people of Taipei. Their sleepy demeanor and chubby little bodies seem so far being fierce police dogs, but they will get there! Meanwhile, we can enjoy photos of them laying on top of police cars and playing with their trainers.
