Friendly, inviting and accepting of foreign travelers. What country is rated the world’s most friendly country? The Internation’s Expat Insider 2016 Index says Taiwan is the winner! Next are Uganda and Costa Rica holding the top spots for the nicest places on the planet.
Travelers that visited Taiwan said locals are extremely friendly and demonstrate high amounts of hospitality. Over one-third of people said they would consider living in Taiwan forever after having such a great experience in the Asian country.
A director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in San Francisco explained the friendly country’s kindness to travelers, “If you travel to Taiwan and open your map, people will immediately offer to walk you to your destination,” Linda Lin said.
Taiwan is an island country near China. The friendly countries major languages are Mandarin Chinese, Min Nan Chinese a.k.a. Taiwanese and Hakka. Their most practiced religions are Taoism, Buddhism, and Christianity. If you want to travel to Taiwan, go ahead and convert your currency to the New Taiwan dollar.
The island’s landscape is quite amazing. It has winding gorges, mountains, hot springs and tropical beaches. No wonder the people are so fantastic, they have a little bit of everything. Taiwan’s culture is quite diverse as well as they have Dutch, Chinese, Japanese and aboriginal and modern influences.
Taipei is Taiwan’s capital city and has their National Palace Museum that showcases Tibetan Buddhist art. To get a fantastic view of Taiwan, visit Maokong in the southern part of the friendly country. The best (and most fun way) to get there is by a cable car that runs from the Taipei Zoo metro station.
To see impressive temples and pagodas, visit the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas on Lotus Pond in Kaohsiung. You can also find the country’s largest Confucius Temple at the northern end. If you decide to trek farther southeast of Kaohsiung, you’ll stumble upon Maolin National Scenic Area. The region has gorgeous waterfalls, gorges, hot springs, and forestry. It is a nature lovers paradise and is perfect for a hike. The Purple Butterfly Valley will take your breath away at the site of an estimated one million purple and blue winged Euploeini butterflies.
To experience the friendly country’s food, the Shilin Night Market is the place to go. It offers all the local cuisines including oyster omelets, stinky bean curd, fruit, smoothies, fresh sugar cane juice, sweet dumplings and so much more. The market is a shoppers dream with clothing, jewelry, candles, makeup, and anything else your heart desires.
